It is with heavy hearts and sadness we announce the passing of Eric Andersen, due to complications of nocardia pneumonia. Eric left us surrounded by family on May 8, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Gig Harbor, WA.
Eric was born June 4, 1959, to George Andersen and Pearl Dunn, in Port Angeles, WA. Eric was an honorary graduate from Port Angeles High School, class of 1978. Eric devoted his life to his hometown, never once straying from the place he called home. Through hard work and determination, he built a thriving business that not only supported his family but also enriched the lives of those around him. Eric leaves behind a legacy on the Peninsula, one that will be remembered for generations to come. After high school, Eric worked for Lloyd Carr, he went on to become a self-employed, and well-known logger and opened Andersen and Son’s Gravel Pit. Eric was a dedicated member of the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum in Brooks, Oregon, as well as the American Truck Historical Society. Eric enjoyed attending truck shows, the Sequim Irrigation Festival, and the Forks 4th of July Parade with his antique log truck. Eric is survived by his fiancée, Christine Clark, his son Cody Andersen of Port Angeles, his stepdaughter’s, Lindsey (Eric) Sheppard and Jacqueline (Shane) Faford, both of Shelton, his brother, Andrew Andersen of Port Angeles, and his step-grandchildren, Aiden and Pierce Sheppard, Evelyn Allen, and Charlotte Faford, all of Shelton. Eric was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pearl Andersen, his sister-in-law, Kathy Andersen, and his stepson, R. Ryan Clark.
A celebration of Eric’s life will be announced later. In lieu of flowers the family asks for any memorial contributions be made in Eric’s name to The Pacific Northwest Truck Museum at P.O Box 9087, Brooks, OR, 97305.
