Paula Marie (Messersmith) Critchfield

Paula was born on June 25, 1951, in Port Angeles, WA, to Harold & Helen Messersmith. In 1969, at the age of 18, she married Stanley McBride. They were blessed with 2 boys, Roland & Darren. Then in 1976, Paula & her family moved to Three Forks, Montana. After 4 years, in 1980, they divorced. She then returned to Port Angeles, WA. She found love again with Gerald (Jerry) Critchfield and married on May 3 1985. Throughout her life, she worked at several nursing & private homes where she truly was a kind & caring caregiver. She used these skills to help care for many family members, as family was always her 1st priority. And if you ever needed anything, to the best of her ability, she would be one of the first to help. She had such a heart of gold. She loved playing music with her husband in their country band, The Hillbilly Swingers. She also loved hummingbirds. Among crocheting, gardening, & learning the History of Clallam County in Washington, are just a few things she enjoyed doing. On May 19, 2024, she passed on to be with her Husband Gerald (Jerry), her mother & father, her 2 brothers, Dean & Dugan Messersmith, and her 2 sisters, Wendy McBride & Becky Stark. She is survived by her sons, Roland (Stacie) McBride, granddaughter Claire McBride, of NC & Darren (Debi) McBride, granddaughter Ali McBride of Mohall, ND., grandson Dakota (Mireya) Haslar of Edgewood NM., sister Shelley Evenstad of Port Angeles, Wa., brothers, Dave Messersmith of Colfax, WA., & Robin Messersmith of Port Angeles, WA., along with many nieces and nephews. Paula will be greatly missed by many friends and family but will never be forgotten.
