Survived by his wife, Malena, and their three children: Lila (Wies) Edwards and her husband Damon of Blackwater, VA; Dodie (Wies) McBride and her husband Stephen of Quilcene, WA; and James Wies and his wife Suzy of Port Ludlow, WA. He also leaves behind a legacy of love in his grandchildren: Scarlett McBride of Chimacum, WA; Dalen, Savannah, and Lila McBride of Quilcene, WA; and Conley and Morrighan Edwards of Blackwater, VA. From Malena:
He was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild in his final days. His only bucket list items involved food, and the kids made sure he enjoyed every last item. We are blessed that our children and their families have lived nearby for most of their lives, and our frequent, joyful family gatherings will remain a cherished memory. He passed knowing he was deeply loved and will be missed, but his memory will live on forever in our hearts.

As his wife, I am comforted knowing he was a Christian and that we will be reunited again. Thank you to our family and friends for their constant prayers and loving support. Those prayers gave us strength in this difficult time.

A private memorial will be held by the family at a later date.
