Scott Stephen Campbell
October 31, 1964 – January 16, 2025
Scott Stephen Campbell, born on October 31, 1964, in Olympia, Washington, passed away
on January 16, 2025, after a brave and enduring battle with health challenges. The first-born
child of George and Barbara (Windell) Campbell, Scott spent his childhood immersed in
the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. He shared many fond memories of hunting, crabbing, and fishing with his parents, uncles, aunts, and cousins, and developed a lifelong
love for the outdoors.
A dedicated member of 4-H and FFA, Scott raised prize-winning chickens and cultivated
high-quality crops, demonstrating his strong work ethic and passion for craftsmanship
from an early age. After graduating from Capitol High School in 1983, he became known for
his love of motors and vehicles. Whether it was dirt bikes, motorcycles, or larger projects,
Scott found great joy in building and restoring cars from the ground up.
In the early 1990s, Scott relocated to the Olympic Peninsula, seeking a quieter life in the
midst of the growing city of Olympia. It was here that he built a family, raising six children—
Sarah, Brandon, Breanna, Kayleigh, Colby, and Cayden—and five bonus children. He took
immense pride in his children and bonus children, cherishing every moment as they grew
into the incredible individuals they are today.
Scott had a unique gift for finding joy in life’s simplest pleasures. Whether it was
spontaneous camping trips, unplanned travels, or simply enjoying the outdoors, his zest for
life was contagious, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met. Despite the ups and
downs life presented, Scott always remained deeply connected to the place he called
home, the Pacific Northwest.
Scott is survived by his wife, Lynette; his six children, as mentioned above; his five bonus
children, Mara, Sean and Spencer, Seth, and Matthias; his granddaughter, Riley; his father,
George Campbell; his sister, Michelle Campbell Kachel; and many extended family
members, including aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be greatly missed by all who had
the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
that donations be made.
