Sharon Kay Christensen

Sharon K. Christensen, 77, of Sequim, Washington, peacefully passed away on August 4th 2021, after a difficult and long battle with heart disease.

Sharon was born on December 13th 1943 to William Hargrove and Madelyn Ballard in Corona California. She graduated from Oakland Tech High School in 1960.

In 1968, Sharon was living in Oakland California with her three children from a first marriage, Walter, Rima and Paige when she met Tom Christensen. The two were married on January 27th 1969 and had Julie; together they were now a family of six.

Sharon and Tom settled down in Hayward California to raise their family. They were close to family and friends and always hosted big gatherings at their home. Sharon loved to cook, and you could always find her in the kitchen.

In their later years, Sharon and Tom relocated to Issaquah Washington; they lived there until Tom passed away in 1998. After that Sharon continued to live in the area and work as a framer/engravist at the local frame shop in town. She fully retired in 2003 and moved to Sequim Washington in 2008, where she had been living the past 13 years of her life.

Sharon moved to The Vintage at Sequim Apts. In Sequim Washington and not soon after that she was making friends, cooking meals for the other residents, and playing bingo every Wednesday and Saturday nights.  She enjoyed going to the casino, lunch dates, taking drives and shopping with her good friends.

Sharon is predeceased by her parents, her husband Tom, her sister Betty Callahan, and her daughter Paige Van Ek. She is survived by her three children, Walter (Wife Karen) Gautreaux, Jr, Rima (Husband Jim) Edmonds, Julie Christensen and son in law Steven Van EK and her nine grandchildren, Joshua (Fiancé Claire), Wade, Richelle (Husband Taylor), Kyle, Evan, Amanda, Seth, Michael and Sean.

A celebration of life will be held on a date and time in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association.
