Surprisingly, Terry Bottiger would tell you that he lived his best life after a seemingly devastating Stage IV cancer diagnosis. Prior to that, he was a well-loved athlete, coach, family man and business owner. But cancer caused him to ponder the bigger questions. For 60 years, his exposure to "religion" had left him with disbelief and distaste. Now facing an end to this life - which could be weeks or months - a friend prompted him to search for answers to questions he had never asked. And so began a skeptic's journey...
Pursuing a relationship with the Lord - led Terry (who was already a cool guy) to become an even better version of himself. He genuinely cared for others in a way he hadn't imagined possible. During 5 years on chemotherapy, Terry was a true standout. He lived an increasingly active and joyful life, pouring out love to everyone he met. Did you know Terry loved to dance? Every chance he could find - even stepping up to co-lead the dance floor team at Tim Tebow's Night To Shine event in 2019 and again in 2020. Go Terry!! In his last days, he was quick to share that he had no fear of death, and prayed that everyone would come to know the same Peace he found.
And that is why Terry directed the details of this obituary. He wanted "his story" to encourage others to take a step of faith.
So please, in honor of Terry... challenge yourself to engage with good resources.
