It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Joseph Devany. William passed away at the age of 65 in Libby, Montana. Bill was born in Waco, Texas to James Vincent Devany and Shirley Ann Bradley on January 3rd, 1959.
He went to school at the University of Washington and Foster School of business, where he graduated with his bachelor’s in business and finance, he changed careers late in life to become an Occupational Hearing Conservationist for Valley Hearing Associates. Bill’s business career highlights included working as a Senior Account Manager for Microsoft and for Crystal Point as an International Sales Manager. Bill spent many years in the technology field before realizing he wanted to be more connected to people than his current job allowed. He started his hearing training at Miracle Ear in Bellevue and joined Valley Vision and Hearing Associates in February 2018. Bill passed his state boards for his Hearing Aid Specialist license in March of 2018 and found it personally satisfying when people thanked him for being able to hear the voice of their loved ones. Bill split his time between Ellensburg and the Methow Valley, he enjoyed watching the sun set on the Cascade’s and could often been found out tending his small vineyard. Bill was the president of Court Advocates for Children (CASA) of Kittitas County in Ellensburg, Washington where he advocated for the best interest of abused and neglected children within the justice system. He was a devoted Husky’s fan, enjoyed cycling, he was a great outdoorsman and a wine making enthusiast. Bill is survived by his children, Liam Conor Devany (Missoula Montana) and Rowan Catrin Devany (Tacoma, Washington). His siblings, Jim Devany, Suzanne Devany, Michael Devany, Patty Riley, Brian Devany and their families. Bill is preceded in death by his mother Shirely Ann Bradley Devany.
Services will be held September 19th, in Sequim, WA starting will Mass at 11:00 at St. Joseph’s Church, Bill will be buried in Ocean View Cemetery, in Port Angeles, WA following Mass. A reception will follow and be held at Port Ludlow Beach Club in Port Ludlow, WA. In lieu of flowers Bill’s family ask that any donations in his honor be made to CASA.
