William Carl Ledbetter

William Carl Ledbetter, of Sequim, Washington, passed away on September 14, 2025, at the age of 80.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Sequim; his daughter, Teresa Lechtenberg, and her husband, Brett, along with their sons, Dalton and Carter, of Sandy, Utah; and his son, Bill Ledbetter, and his partner, Kelley Plecher, of Renton, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his mother, (Cecil) Ruby Denniston of Codell, Kansas; his father, James Ledbetter of Oklahoma; and his brother, Jerry Ledbetter of Kansas. He is also survived by his brother, Clint Ledbetter, and family of Oklahoma.
Bill was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and raised in Codell, Kansas. He graduated from Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Following graduation, he entered the United States Air Force and continued his studies at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he earned a degree in Meteorology. His military service included assignments as a weather officer at Kincheloe Air Force Base in Michigan, Udorn Air Force Base in Thailand, and Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, where his career transitioned into computer technology.
After leaving active duty in 1972, Bill settled in Thousand Oaks, California, where he began a long and successful career in the computer industry. He later resided in Lacey and Woodinville, Washington, before retiring to Sequim. In retirement, he enjoyed the beauty of the “Blue Hole” and shared his knowledge by providing computer assistance at the Shipley Center, where he remained active until his passing.
